Try doing 8x400 and averages under 5 pace with 60 second rest your probably in 5:10 all the way to 5:20 shape
Poor predictor.
Do 10x400 at perceived mile pace with 90 seconds rest (some will advocate for 60s but I'll assume you're aerobically weak for now). When you can run 75's you'll be ready.
Time trial of 1000 or 1200 is actually the best predictor, not 10 x 400.
It's possible you can go sub-5:00.
Not based on this workout, however. Among other things, your 76s suggest that sub-5:00 pace is not your "natural" striding speed at this time.
I agree with the previous poster who, based on this workout, suggests you could be in 5:10-5:20 shape. I'd maybe put you toward the faster end of that range.
I just did 10 x 400 with 400 jog recovery @ an average of 75.5 (78,79,78,75,75,75,74,74,73,73), with 5 miles of hilly warm-up and cool-down. I recently ran 5:05. I think I am close to 5:00 shape in a well-pace 1600. Hope to find out this weekend.
