Ok so I know these posts are not very useful.. I guess I'm hoping things aren't as dire as they seem
PRs from last year: 4:38, 2:04-- was hoping to break 4:30 and 2 min this year, improved by 1 min in xc (16:20s rolling hills course, very nice weather, dry grass and 16:40 good course, mudfest 40F and raining were my best performances )
Cue a hamstring that bothered me from christmas day until late february and.....
I know I'm not in the shape to hit my goal times right now, but I'm hoping to get an idea of how far off I might be.
Workouts recently: 3-4 mi tempos in 5:30-5:45 pace, 10 mi in 64-70 min (not super accurate course)
6x800 (2:32, 2:24, 2:26, 2:26, 2:30, 2:23) w/ 3 min rest (rain was coming and going hence weird pacing overall)
8x400 w/ 2-2:30 of rest (will be cut down over the season to 1-1:30) 67.0 avg, not that hard
5x200 w/ 200 walk back (26.1, 26.0, 26.4, 27.0, 27.1) (last 2 into wind, done in spikes)
Hopefully the above gives an idea of my speed-- endurance range and current fitness. Running an 800 on Thurs and a 16 on Sat, so may update with results if things go well.
