Great job Gene.
Great job Gene.
Congrats, Gene!

Worthy of a respectful post bump

I’ll have what he’s having ;-)
I follow Gene on Facebook. He just did some monster ultra less than a month ago, I think.
Amazing. Inspirational.
I was following him on the tracker. He never missed one timing mat. Why can’t Frank do that?
Also I am sure other runners saw him during the race.
Stud.
Crikey!
Stellar job Gene!!! You inspire us all!
He's an awesome person as well.

Several facts you need to be aware of:
1. He pins his number to his shorts - always a huge plus for me.
2. Races in Nike Vaporfly.
3. Certainly runs over the ground - no knee lift or back kick, but is toey.
4. Better suited to longer stuff?

JustGene has mentioned running for 60 years. I pulled up the vid to see if his mechanics match a 2:54 'thon....which it does.
Don't think he can run a 60 second quarter, tho.
Have issues with JustGene pinning number to SIDE of his shorts, although I follow the rule of pinning number to shorts. Too much risk of missing race photos.
Finally, a believable time for a masters runner.

You can't do that despite being younger and aging at the same rate.

So you are jealous on my behalf? While I am not. You are an idiot.

No need for both of us to be jelly.
Now start going on about why Gene didn't do 2:10 or whatever that's worth when he was younger as your "rules" state.

That's an incredible time for a 71 yr old. I'm 11 yrs younger than him and can't even run a 5k without reaggravated many of my chronic injuries. In fact, I doubt I could even walk 26 miles without ending up in the hospital. Lol
This is superhuman anti-aging genetics -- how many 71 yr olds could walk 26 miles let alone run that distance? ?

He did an 800 last year in 2:47. At the same meet, he also did the steeplechase and triple jump! I think he likes to just get out there and have some fun.
