Hey guys, are these good middle distance spikes?

Thanks for any input - particularly curious about folks who have worn them. I see that Nike no longer makes them.

They are literally the most comfortable spikes ever made. Very fast. More long distance oriented but I ran a couple fast 800s in them. Both versions of the Ventulus are killer spikes. You can't go wrong with them.

I generally see people use something with a more aggressive plate for middle distance, but I always thought the upper was very comfortable. They're very lightweight, I'm sure modern spikes are lighter but the difference is surely negligible while actually racing. Check the condition closely, shoe glue can wear out over time and those spikes are quite old, so the integrity of the plate on the midsole may not be great if they've been used at all.
Thanks for the reply, all!

+1 I ran my best 1500s in them
Nope. Spike placement is not suited for mid distance. They're more for LD.
those zoom vents are LD spikes. if you want a MD spike from the era get some zoom jasaris, and I think the johnson had that same spike plate as well.
Great spikes, wish they still made them! I ran 147 in these; never liked stiff spikes for MD. Just my opinion though. If you are a MD/LD guy, you'll love these. If moving up to the 8 from the 4, these will feel like slippers:-)

100% agree, best spikes ever. Ran my first sub 350 (1500 ?) in these spikes.

Nike doesn't make them like this anymore - they fall apart after 1 season now...

I think these are solid spikes - you'd like them if you can find them in your size

Did these ever come in other colors? Hard to find info on them online... Any links to reviews or Nike spike archives would be appreciated!

What other versions existed?
