Last year as a freshman, I ran 4:46 for the 1600m without hardly any pre season training and I’d go hard on the workouts, but i took mileage days very easy. This year I have been running 50 miles a week and ran all winter. This Tuesday I ran 4:53 in the mile shortly after a 4x800 and won by around 100 meters, then followed through with a 2 mile race. Last year I ran around 5:05 this time last year, and I am still running around 52 mpw now and running the 800, 1600m, and 3200m at the last two meets compared to running just the 1600m last year. What do you feel is a good time to set a goal for this season? I feel like I will be able to run faster in the meets where there is more competition and not having the 800m before. Thanks!
