My son is a freshman in HS and has his district meet this Friday. His coach put him in the 4x200m relay for the first time this year, but immediately following it, has the 400m dash. He has his normal cool down routine, but is that what he should be doing with the races so close together? He also runs the 200m, but there is more time between that and the 400m. His main focus is the 400m and does not want to sacrifice it for the relay, but also doesn’t want to let his team down... So, since he is likely running both, I figured I would seek advice on what he should do between the races. Thanks in advance for any input!
