I have noticed this sliding insole problem on both my New Balance Beacons and FuelCore Sonic. Prior to that I noticed it on New Balance's Vazee Pace. In all cases I fixed it by spraying the bottom of the insoles with adhesive spray and putting them back in. I got 200+ miles on all pairs afterwards with no insole problems.
I ran ~400 miles in the FuelCore Sonic and did not have any insole issues. Maybe a fluke occurrence for me, or you.
I did my first run in a while in the Beacons yesterday having super-glued the insoles in place. Worked like a charm! Thanks, all.
But, there may be a new issue that's unlikely to be as easily solved. I ran 12 miles with three 'tempo' miles on a 1-mile gravel track (on topic note: no issues with gravel being kicked up). Noproblems during the 3.5 miles there or during the tempo. Leaving the park there's a decent downhill section for ~0.5 mile then nearly a mile all uphill. It was during the uphill section that my right ankle felt disconcertingly sore, mostly on the outside. I was too far still to walk home so I ran with the pain which didn't get any worse but didn't get better either. I wasn't on my feet much the rest of the day but other than a bit of stiffness I didn't notice it the rest of the day. I did my usual 6.5 mile run this morning in the 890v6 fully expecting to feel the pain again. But instead I felt nothing. This isn't the first time I've felt some ankle pain wearing the Beacons but I've always blamed it on something other than the shoes. I'm beginning to wonder, though, if my body simply doesn't like the stack height or the cushioning or who knows what about these shoes.
Anyone else have a similar experience? I need to replace my 890s and while I've never paid much mind to stack height before I think I'm going to start this go around.
