In my book someone wearing Nike 4% shoes is no different from someone using EPO/other forms of blood doping. Both are cheating. And if you wear Nike 4% shoes, you are a d-bag. The difference is clear. Marathon world record before EPO got on the scene: 2:06:50. A decade later: 2:06:05. A difference of about 1%. The world record before cheater 4% shoes: 2:02:57. The record afterwards: 2:01:39. A difference of about 2%.

It's called innovation, just like when pole vault poles, tennis rackets, football helmets, and golf clubs innovated. Other shoe companies are welcome to innovate too.

If that's the case why was the Puma brush spike banned years and years ago and led to the introduction of limited numbers of spikes in shoes? If you want to see people running on shoes 6 inches deep then carry on because a look at the 5% tells you that's where it's going... Deeper and more effective springs. Iaaf needs to introduce a midsole depth limit.
EPO is a medicine, which has been used in endurance sports to improve performance of users. Misuse of EPO can cause health issues.
VP4% are a running shoes. VP4% don't put your health in risk.

Nope. If this were true, EPO would be legal and sold in limited sizes and quantities online.

We all know that Rupp and Hasay were injured by wearing those shoes.
We also know that Allie was injured by switching from them to ASCIS.
EPO can be bought at drug stores (do not know if you need a prescription for it). There are persons with kidney decease who need it to precent anemia.
So it is completely legal as a medicine.

I'll never be anything spectacular in the running world and enjoy racing in them (they're so soft!) so I'm fine with being called a cheater with my 3:09 marathon PR. Greater tragedies in the world, like real doping and running out of oreos.

Hobby joggers actually get more of a benefit. Do the math, 4% off a 4 hour marathon is a lot more time than 4% off a 2:10 marathon.
And without the hobby jogger market, there is no 4%. You think Nike would invest the r&d money just to give these shoes to elites? It's all about the money you moran.
One of these things is legal to use. The other is not. If in your book there is no difference between the two maybe you should get a better book.
