Specs say 10mm of drop and lots of cushioning. RW has a pretty good deal on them. Whatya think?

Yes. This is my favorite easy/recovery/long run shoe. It is super light, well cushioned, feels good at midfoot, bouncy, and soft, but not overly so.
Agreed, I like 'em for anything short of tempo/interval work.
I use them for easy recovery runs of 4-6 miles only. Any faster workouts or runs longer than 6 miles I do not use them.

I think Kofuzi mentioned something similar. I haven't had issues taking them for longer distances though. I like them for 14 mile long-easy runs at like anywhere from 6:45-7:30 pace.
I have taken them down to mile repeats at 5:20 pace or so. They can work for it because they are light, bouncy, and not overly soft, but it is definitely not their best use. They are more of a relaxed shoe.
I have seen people say that they like the Pegasus Turbo for easy/recovery/long runs, but I prefer the Epic React. The mushy, unstable, and narrow midfoot base of the Pegasus Turbo end up making my feet hurt on easy/recovery and especially long runs.
The Epic React is firmer, but still soft. It is also more stable with a wider base.

I second all of this. I bought both at the same time back in the fall when I had one time employee store access.
The Peg Turbo is hands down the most comfortable shoe I have ever put on. As mentioned above though, it is too narrow for the stack height. So unless land relatively mid foot strike and not too inverted, you'll have a little bit of issues with it.
On the epic react the flyknit upper took me a little getting used to. I really like the wider base of support too. The shoe is cushy yet still responsive that you don't feel like you're slogging. You can get up and go in it a little bit too if you want. I highly recommend using it as an easy day running shoe.
So much response in this shoe! The perfect option, totally agree!
Rather use peg turbos for slow ass days.
Hi,
The epic reacts are a bit more breathable and cheaper than the turbo's too. I also would suspect that the epics would last longer too.
Cheers
Steve
Id probably race in the epic reacts I mean why not 7.8oz lightweight and fairly firm. Ive raced in the Kinvaras.
The epic react is a fairly underrated shoe some of it is Nikes own doing. They turned half the market off with their pillow BS advertising.
Id say its fairly versatile. Ive done all of my runs in them and never had an issue. I put it above the Turbo personally. I'm a neutral runner with a high level of supination. I appreciate the foam. So many neutral shoes have a low stack height which just destroys my fragile feet/ankles.
I've put a lot of miles in reacts. Mainly my everyday easy shoe, they are cushy but I stopped using them so much as they started to make my arches ache bizarrely. I do most runs in zoom fly flyknits now, they are just the greatest all round shoes in my opinion (everyone is different).

Agree its funny I race in those and train in reacts despite being heavier. But the benefit outweighs it with the full carbon plate plus react foam.
Just out of curiosity, in general, what are your times for...long easy runs, some sort of tempo repeats, and half marathon race?
I do pretty much everything in Epic Reacts, but use Reebok FRRF for track and some interval/tempo work. I only have about 40 miles on my Zoom Fly FK, but at a size 13, the weight seems to cancel out the benefit of the carbon fiber plate. Best paces I've hit in the ZF FK seem difficult, while hitting those paces in React seems much easier. I will say, faster tempos in ZF are more enjoyable, while running slow is frickin' miserable.
Soooo much misinformation and misguided opinions in one thread. :(
