Sorry, I meant "whoever is behind that account."
He's about to sell his house. Wonder if he's upgrading (not much in Gainesville) or downsizing now that his son is turning pro. Amazing thing about G'ville real estate. He bought it for $675k in 2007 and 12 years later, 0 appreciation, selling it for $675k.

There’s a reason the football coaches make bank. I’m not sure a university is getting their money back out of paying half a million to a track coach??
I had an athlete recruited by a D1 school. Two years later the coach who recruited me called to tell me he was retiring and the job was mine if I wanted it- 90K
His son? You mean Grant? That is not his son. Salary worth every penny. He is a winner. Winning program. That doesn’t come free.

Coach Holloway turned down more money from Texas last year. Florida is lucky to have him.
he bought at the peak, right before the recession, that's why it costs the same today

That wasn't me. I assume whoever posted this thread, the point was the top track coaches in American make more than you think.
Eldrick Floreal's base pay at Texas is $450k. The Softball coach at UT gets $450k. Prior to this Oregon was paying the coach almost half that: $237,500
Texas is really breaking the bank. They have #1 or #2 in collegiate money and very few sports to pay for. Ohio State is right up there in terms of money but has WAY more sports to pay for.
People talk about football players and basketball players getting screwed over and not getitng paid. That may be the case dependng on how you look at it, but what they really are doing is subsidizing the scholarships and salaries of everyone else in the athletic department.

Anyone know ?
My guess would be 150 K ( MP ) and 125 ( AP )
Mike Holloway has done the same thing for many, many years and regardless of pay. He was paid peanuts for being excellent when he was my coach in high school. And probably underpaid for a long time after that when he was an assistant (and even early on when he was a head coach). It's great that he's well-paid now. Long overdue. Great guy who has made his former student-athletes tens of millions in getting them headed in the right direction in ways having nothing to do with track. Ask anyone who had the good fortune to have been coached by him. Congrats, Mouse.
