Zoom Elite 2

I haven't had any experience with the original elites but I just bought a pair of the II's. I had saucony's new tangent for this summer, but after 60 miles they were nearly dystroyed. the treads were nearly off the entire sole. I returned the tangents with the intentions of getting another pair but the store was out of my size..so i decided on the new elites. I've only had two runs in them so far, but they feel great. They seem a little on the narrow side, but other than that, no complaints thus far.

I've had two pair of the Zoom Elites. Great shoe. Did you buy your Tangents from a store or on-line? Did they act like it was an isolated incident or a quality control probelm?

Tim, Most people I have put the II on say they can tell no differnce in the ride. The laces on the II seem to be animprovement.

Hedgehog: I bought the tangents from my local running store. They acted like it was a fluke accident. I think its safe to say it was an isolated incident. I wouldn't be afraid of buying a pair. If the store would have had my size, I would be wearing them now.

Are the Elite 2 lightweight neutral or are they lightweight stability like the first version. The nike website seems to indicate just nuetral but I have not seen the medial side of the shoe yet. thanks!

They have a medial post and it is a little bit flattened. The second density looks more like a DS-Trainer or an Axiom. The stability is not all in the heel anymore.

That is disappointing to hear. I thought I might actually start recommending it to people.

Felt pretty good. Easy to get a good fit. New lacing system helps I think. No blisters!

Maybe the cushioning isn't quite as soft as the originals but it's often hard to tell going from a shoe you have put stacks of miles (so feel like slippers) to one that is brand new.

I think I will like them.

For general training a good compromise between reasonably light, flexible and cushioned. A "flat" certainly they are not however.
