My latest pair of Vaporfly's have already lost their full bounce after 30 miles. I think the retailer I bought them from sold me returned shoes. I know some camera gear sellers do this. They resell returned items as new. With the Vaporfly, should I only buy on initial release to prevent this?
Considering how easy the 4% bottoms and edges scuff I think you would have noticed if they were used. Furthermore, they would have to have a lot of miles on them to lose their bounce after only 30 miles. Which circles backto point one I made. Zero chance they were used. Is this your first pair? After you first get over the very different feeling of running with a carbon plate underfoot the 4% feels pretty much like any other shoe. I’m thinking you’ve just become accustomed to running in them.

I bought a pair from a running store, and they had creases on the foam sides. My assumption is that those were from people trying them on, and doing a test run in the store. I checked the bottoms, and they looked brand new, so I bought anyway, but I hate having the doubts. When the shoes have a shorter life as these do, it's hard to justify spending all that money on something that may have been used, so I made the decision to buy my next VF's (if I choose to buy again) at Nike.com.
the creases are there from the beginning. after a single run in the shoe, it would be very obvious that they had been used.
The creases are even there in promo photos from Nike. It's a characteristic of the shoe, even when new.
