Hi fellow runners,
After doing lot's and lot's of research I finally decided to go for the Vaporfly for the next Rotterdam marathon.
First I was looking at the Adidas Boston, but after reading some more I just thought 'why invest all that time and effort in search for a big PB but not invest some more money in the best gear?'.
The reasoning behind choosing this shoe is that I allways get very sore upper legs when running a marathon on concrete. Last year i wore my DS Trainer 23 and the last 15-20K were hell for my upper legs.
I am only concerned about the durability of the Vapors. I read a lot of mixed reactions about it. I was planning to do a short training run on them. Then the CPC half marathon in The Hague as a test and then save them for the marathon.
Is that a good strategy? After that they go back in the box untill the next marathon. My weight is around 60KG (sometimes under) and I am a heel/midfoot striker. My plan is to finish around 2:40-2:45.
Is it smart to do a half marathon on them before a full or should I just wear them during the marathon because they maybe lose their responsiveness??
