Going to assume I'm tracking the right guy: 10K in 39:17, last 5K split 18:57

19:12 last split, at 15K in 58:29, if he keeps up around these splits, could be close for a PR, go Bruin go!
Give it all ya got, Bruin! Rooting for you from the other side of the world.
20K at 1:17:32, last split 19:03, looking good!
So far splits have been:
5K - 20:20
10K - 18:57
15K - 19:12
20K - 19:03
Holding around 19:00 will get in the low 2:42, possibly sub 2:42
Keep it up Bruin!

Thanks for the updates, JQ. Seems like he's keeping it steady. Maybe got caught in the crowd at the beginning?
Go Bruin!
Np! Yeah I was thinking the same for the start.
20K at 1:37:49, 19:35 last 5K split
Steadily improving in overall place every single split, keep running them down Bruin!
2002 -> 1436 -> 1169 -> 1063 -> 954 -> 947 rank
Go Bruin! Updates are great JQ!
30K in 1:56:49, last 5K 19:42
Tough conditions this year, for perspective, no Japanese men under 2:10 this year and last year was 10 (?) or so.
Keep it up Bruin!! Still crushing it for these conditions
35K at 2:17:53, 5K split 21:04
Bring it home!
40K at 2:41:09, last 5K 23:16! Final stretch! Go Bruin!!
I just wanted to apologize to the thread as a whole for never replying. This quarter has been ultra hectic and last year I was just a lazy POS. So, starting at the end of March I'm going to make much more of an effort to make replies
Yeah, bring it home, brother.
2:52:13 for the finish! Hell of a race with those conditions, great job Bruin!!
Recover well and rest proper!
Thank you all for the support. I was feeling fine up until 25K (although probably not going to get a PR given the bad weather.. I don’t do well in rainy/cold weather probably related to training in sunny SoCal) but then my hamstrings tightened up. I was fearful of a pulled hamstring injury like the one I had 3 weeks ago which would really ruin the race and possibly my postrace vacation in Japan so I slowed down my pace making sure my hamstrings did not feel worse. I wa disappointed at my race but at least I kept my sub3 at WMM streak alive. More details coming later.
Well done, Bruin. Enjoy the vacation. Japan is a great country for sightseeing. Stay strong!
Inspired running, Bruin. Sorry about the hamstring. You have a sub-2:40 in you. It is just a matter of time.
Solid work, Bruin. That weather had to be rough on the hamstrings, I would imagine. (And was I seeing a lot of cobblestone-type paving over those last miles? Ouch.)
Hope you enjoy the rest of the trip!
Huge congrats on the effort. & result, as you can't control conditions. Enjoy Japan and look forward to reading a detailed race report.
