What is this? Scheduled announcement next week.
I don't think we've seen any elites wearing this yet but makes sense pre-Boston/Tokyo?
Looks vaguely like the Hoka Carbon Rocket with the zero drop rocker.

Ran in this last night. Not bad, but not particularly special. They had to come up with SOMETHING new though.
Can you give us some more specifics?
If you are for real, did the shoe feel stiff like there's a plate?
You might not be able to tell otherwise until at tempo
I know since it's asics they have to throw some fake "gel" in there, some of their models just have a dime-sized spot in the heel so they can claim "gel" and this one seems to have something between the layers

It's probably some competitor fake posting. This shoe looks awesome. Everyone beating up on Asics here lately.
Will be interesting to see how Allie does in Hamilton and Boston in these.
And assuming Sara returns to form, can she drop a few more minutes off her 2:26PR?
colorway looks vaguely related to their Tokyo Marathon rollout for March 2nd
but if that was shipping anytime soon, I think some other photos would have leaked from store stocks because wouldn't you take a photo of an Asics that doesn't look anything like they've ever made? and not a single leak from any sponsored athletes means they probably don't even have them yet

ah okay it's being teased all over their social media today and from that we can guess
"pushes you endlessly forward" sounds exactly like the vaporfly carbon spring plate
Asics Metaride
The future of running has taken shape. It combines one great idea, with another. It helps you run longer, easier. It pushes you endlessly forward. And it never looks back.

"Coming soon: our biggest technological innovation ever."
at $250 it absolutely has to be a carbon spring - well then again the reebok doesn't so I dunno

There is a reason this brand continues to fail. More me to type product, nothing special following industry like a sheep. Company has not had innovation in years.
Their drop to the bottom continues at a renewed pace.
"Our lightest shoe yet... coming in at 26.2oz"
Why are they selling it for the same price as the 4%? If someone is going to pay $250 for a carbon spring shoe, they would be more likely to go with the Vaporfly, which has been tested/proven. Asics should charge less, then people might actually buy them.

perceived value, it's a marketing trick for the masses, if something is half the price of something else, you immediately think it's worth less
no-one pays full retail for an Asics shoe though
but last I checked, most people are lining up to pay full retail for the Nike
it's just a MSRP, maybe with sales and discount codes it will be a $150 shoe
who knows, maybe it will be a 5% shoe?
but that upper does look kinda overbuilt and heavy
maybe all the reviews will drop on the 28th, they might be embargoed
now that I know to search for "metaride" I've found hints of it all the way back to January so I'm thinking someone has their hands on it for weeks now like RunningWarehouse, etc.
yup shipping immediately on the 28th at JackRabbit, EastBay, etc. (I assume RunningWarehouse if the previous)
even better image, and yeah they went with a hole in the sole, wonder how that will do in the rain
backside says FlyteFoam so shouldn't be too heavy but again that upper looks way overdone
why bother with shiney and gel, I dunno, this may be Asics last chance

What if a rock gets wedged into that hole? It seems like a really bad design.

Agree with this, VF has a huge lead in the consciousness of consumers, Asics should be diversified enough to offer this for far less.
yup, and note the hole in the back too
asics likes holes in shoes, the hyperspeed has them on the bottom and I get pebbles in there all the time
Unlike the horrible pockets under the Mizuno wave, a horizontal hole elevated from the contact surface won't be an issue with water or rocks getting "wedged" unless you pronate to the point that the lateral side of your foot contacts the ground.
Supinate, not pronate.
