sub 40 10k
sub 19:30 5k
sub 4:55/5:15 1500/mile
Monday: Off. Legs still felt iffy
Tuesday: 3 miles @ 9:02 avg. Ran this on the indoor track. I was going to do a workout, but my legs started hurting and my PF flared up so I hopped on the elliptical for 40 minutes and then lifted for about 30.
Wednesday: 4 miles @ 9:36 avg on my treadmill. Found that heel striking a bit more made everything feel good again.
Thursday: 3 x 1 mile @ tempo pace w/ 1 minute rest + 4 x 200 w/ 200 jog. First actual workout in about three weeks and my legs actually felt good, surprisingly. Tempo miles were 6:49.5, 6:59.1, 6:59.1. I accidentally started the first one at 6 flat pace before easing up. HR was a little on the high side, but everything was fine otherwise. 200s were 40.9, 44, 42, 41.6. With warm up and cooldown, it was 9 for the day. Lifted for about an hour afterward.
Friday: Off. It was my son’s birthday and we went out of town. Plus I was sore as hell so the day off was timed well.
Saturday: Off. Out of town still.
Sunday: 4 miles @ 9 avg on my treadmill. Home early because the missus has strep. I wanted to run outside, but it snowed and I don’t have any waterproof shoes.
Total: 20
Nothing particularly noteworthy this week. I mostly used this week to get back into the swing of things. Although finding a solution to my PF was awesome. I have a 5k on Saturday that I’m hopeful will give me my first sub 20 since high school. Also planning on bumping my mileage to 35 next week and then 50 the week after. I know you can’t make up missed miles, but I do want to try and offset the unplanned time off.
