      • I ran a very similar race when I lived in Madrid a while back, Derbi de los Afficionados, which seems to be the same event, from one stadium to another. If the course is the same, it is very fast. Downhill a lot of the way. Actually, with the geography of that city, it has to be downhill.
        Expect great times. Especially if they want to get rid of Obiri with her kick.

        This one is slightly different. Goes from Santiago Bernabeu to Estadio de Vallecas (Rayo Vallecano Soccer Team)

        1st K is 75% Uphill 25% Downhill

        2K-8K Downhill (VERY FAST)

        Last 2Ks are Uphill(about 10-20" slower each K), the last hill is quite tough!!

      • As far as I know there are two different courses, one for the mass event and one for elites & sub 39min amateurs. The mass event is held earlier during the day whereas the San Silvestre International for elites starts in the evening (20mins from now).

      • That was fast!

        Unofficial times were 26:39 for the men and 29:53 for the women. Kosgei did great to win, and a fantastic debut for Obiri at 29:58. Dibaba nowhere to be seen in the coverage but came in 3rd.
