I'm really bad at communicating with my coach. I can never tell what he's thinking and I don't know how to tell him what I'm thinking. Also I feel like I'm such a disappointment and always letting him down, and maybe he doesn't pay as much attention to me because I'm not as good at running as some of my teammates. I work really hard, but I still don't do that well, I guess I don't have the talent, although I used to think I did. When I was a freshman I saw that the older kids all had a great relationship with the coach (some said he was like a second father to them) and communicated effortlessly and comfortably. I thought that once I became one of the "older kids" this would just sort of happen automatically, but I'm a junior and it hasn't. I'm pretty awkward around adults in general. Any advice?
