Always a lot of chat on here about these shoes, so I decided to go have a look see if I could find any pictures of these offense causing Carbon Fiber plates. However I can't find any, not one, using my trusty investigative tool, i.e. google.
So what's going on? Has NO ONE ever cut theirs apart once done to extract the plate? Has Nike never released a picture of the plate? What's the story here?
This, I don't get.
New iPhone, there are pictures of it broken down within 5 minutes. New, revolutionary shoe? Not a single pic of one deconstructed.
Why take pictures of a single piece of carbon fiber?
There's plenty, youre just not good at googling...

Now that is interesting to finally see shape of the carbon plate.
Two immediately apparent observations:-
1. The shape is as per the released graphics, i.e. the heel is raised, presumably to give the leverage everyone has been talking about?
2. The heel strip is VERY thin and barely, if at all, contoured. Hence the claim that the plate is just there to provide stability would seem to be unsupported by the evidence.

Clearly not providing ANY stability whatsoever so your first observation is the ONLY thing it's doing.

I tried the original ZoomFly. It was awful. Love the 4%. I never went back to the ZoomFly. What's the SP and how does it not suck like the ZoomFly?
I made my own carbon fiber plates and inserted them in a cheap pair of shoes. Total cost of shoes and carbon, about 60 dollars.
The only change between the zoom fly and the zoom fly SP is the upper. It is more of a transparent upper. The lacing structure is also a lot different in the SP's, there is no flywire cables so the SP's use more of a internal cables to keep your foot on the foot bed

All comparison of the original Zoom Flys are irrelevant now that the ZF FN it has a CF plate and react foam.
