Haven't heard the name Steve Binns in ages.

Apparently it was required to pull the shorts up very high after tossing the javelin.
And for 40 being in that race, it's hard to see more than 20 or so on the video.
That was a WR performance with all that traffic.

Drop outs accounted for some. You can see Alberto standing off to the side after he dropped out.
...in Mattapoisett, MA. Nice to see Jeff Smith in the mix for a while.
"Geoff"
"...on schedule for just over 27:30....which is very fast indeed. "
Talk about a different era!
That's not Salazar.
you are so right. my apologies....
MATTAPOISETT — Selectmen Tuesday night approved what they hope will become an annual town event: Veterans Day road race.
Mattapoisett resident and two-time Boston Marathon champion Geoff Smith, who presented the idea to the board, said he had been planning to start such a road race in town for the past 10 years. He chose Veterans Day because he wanted a date that would not conflict with other town events.
“The key was to not inconvenience people with road closings all over town,” he said.
Town administrator Michael Gagne said that after discussing the idea with Smith it was agreed the race would be dedicated to the memory of local veterans and would start before the annual Veterans Day ceremony at Old Hammondtown School.
The race could develop into an annual event that donates its proceeds to the Tri-town Veterans Council, Gagne said. There will be a chance for runners to donate money within the application form.
Smith said 40 runners have registered for this year’s event. He expects about 100 in total to participate.
He said the event will be two races: 10-mile run and 5K run. Both will send runners along Main Street and to Ned’s Point. The 10-mile will travel as far as Ridge Avenue.

Who is Jarod Word?
Wasn’t Gerard Hartman from Ireland. Went to Arkansas. Did some Triathlons. Very prominent physical therapist in Europe. Worked with a women who ran a 2:15 marathon.
Ah the blood doping era. How many of them 40 didn't blood dope.
No offense, Cor, or anyone else who says Salazar was in that field.
Can you point out where you see him running that race? The Athletics West guy standing on the edge of the track is not Salazar.
How do you know he wasn't in the field?
Obviously you're not going to see him running in the field since the video picks up basically where the guy has dropped out.
