I want to raise some goats, wondering if it is legal to do it inside city limits. They're no bigger than a medium size dog. Thoughts?

Do you think the rules are the same everywhere?
I'm going just claim my goats identify as dogs.
I raised a few goats when my kids were young, FYI they are probably just as smart as most dog's.

So, you think that "goats" doesn't require an apostrophe but "dog's" does?
Most "dog's" (sic) are probably just as smart as you.
Did you ever eat them and milk them? If so any tips on raising goats for that? My main reason for wanting to get some goats is for that and it is hard to get raw milk in the US.

Be sure to get female goats. Male goats produce way less milk, and it takes a lot more work to get it out.

Check with your city/tpwn on the regulations regarding farm animals, like chickens, goats, sheep, etc. They do require a substantial amount of pasture. I live on 17 acres and I have a herd of goats that require very little maintenance from me. If you are allowed to raise goats on your property you may want to consider Nigerian dwarfs. Be aware that larger goat types can and will destroy trees as they will eat the bark off of Cedar and some Pine species.

Most goatherds are just normal sized and not picked by country.
Thank you for the info, anything else I should know? Is there anything specifically I should make sure they eat?

They're usually high on a hill and lonely.
There’s some great info on the internet, just search for goatse.cx

They should have a good pasture if you are raising them for the milk. Also a good Salt Lick and of course a water source. If you are just raising them for pets or for property maintenance then nothing else is required. I give mine Alfalfa treats daily but they mostly feed on the grasses, they also eat poison oak, blackberries, witches broom and really just about anything. If you don't have a good pasture then buying bales of Hay would be required for them to feed on.
If you need any other information let me know.

I suggest to milk them first before eating them.
I want to get an alpaca for my dorm room. If I say it’s an emotional support animal, they’ll have to let me keep it, right?
