I give it a 7.8/10. One bite everybody knows the rules.

I like the fact that at least part of the jacket is made from recycled materials/waste.
Don't care about the jacket one way or the other. It's clothing. It doesn't have feelings. It is JUST a jacket.
As has been discussed many, many times on here...it will sell. Most of the first timers will buy it, the charity runners will buy it and yes, a few of the Boston die-hards will buy it, despite having bought virtually the same jacket each of the 7 times they have previously run it.
Looks like a nice running jacket, but I don't understand the cult following. They seem to be everywhere at local races and running events. Is there any history to the purchase of a boston jacket? In any case, adidas and BAA must love the money they make from these!
Rodgers invented the Boston jacket from a yellow rain slicker he fished out of a dumpster and a blue permanent marker.
Last year's was better. You can wear that one as a safety jacket. This one would never exit the closet. 1.9/10.
I buy the jacket every year, even though I've never run Boston. I think it looks cool and I also love the looks on people's faces when they ask me about running Boston and I tell them straight up: "I've never run a marathon, I'm actually fast."
I ran Boston a few years ago and did not buy the jacket. I just could not think of any circumstance where I would wear it. It would be too hot to run in, and comes across as pretentious in any other circumstance. Just not my style.

It IS a nice jacket. I have one from 2013 when I ran. Good classic colors.
Needless to say I wear it in the winter so it's gone through 100 washes or so in the last 5 years (usually hang dry) and still looks good.

It's only pretentious if you make it so. Nobody thinks any more or less of you. It's how you act.
I like it. Won't be getting one this year, but I'll be back in 2020.

Depends on where you are from. Being from Ohio, I run in the jacket all the time and it's perfect.
I don't think it's pretentious to wear it unless you're trying to wear it to make a point. If you aren't projecting yourself as an @$$hole then it's fine.
As in every part of life: just don't be an @$$ and you'll be fine.
2017 was a light shade of blue that I liked. Last year was orange, but they called it that stupid "regal red". I use that one for training. It's still in good shape and visible.
It seems they try to push the limits of what a masculine guy will wear, and often they go too far, like with the aqua and purple.
I'd love it if they came out with something like a navy blue or maroon. Those would sell well, too.
This is the worst of the 3, but well ahead of the aqua and purple.

This is so stupid. For the most part, I do disagree with a lot of stupid macho stuff like what “A manly color please” wrote. But plenty of secure men should be able to not like light blue/orange/pink without being labeled as insecure.

Hahaha!
I sincerely hope you're kidding about wearing the jacket without running/qualifying for Boston. People work for YEARS to wear one of these jackets. For a lot of people, BQing is the hardest and most grueling thing they'll ever do in their life, and the jacket is a representation of that hard work. Please reconsider wearing this jacket if you have not run the actual race - it's insulting to those that have.
PS - if you were actually fast, maybe you would have already qualified

People wear jerseys of their favorite sports team and player. Should they reconsider wearing that because they haven't actually played in the NFL - it's insulting to those who have?
People buy and wear Oregon Project apparel. Should they reconsider wearing that because they aren't actually in the Oregon Project and it's insulting to those who have?
I could go on and on.

Well at $110 it's less than half a day's pay for me so people who have to save for years to afford one must be living in poverty. It's a jacket, with a cool design that I like, but it's not awarded to people at the finish line at Boston or whatever race they run their BQ at. You simply buy it with money if you want it.
I hardly pay attention to what the Boston jacket looks like or what color it is, but I do think the 2019 one is better than ones in past years. There were a couple years where it was an ugly orange and another year where it was a purplish color

What's STUPID is implying that you're not "masculine" if you're perfectly comfortable wearing color combos like aqua and purple. That's completely wrong and if that's how you feel then you probably don't have much meaningful concept of what masculinity actually is. Masculine men can wear any colors with ease and make it look perfectly natural.
