What supplements are you currently taking to alleviate joint pain? More importantly did you notice any gains/pain reduction? My joints are totally shot.

He forgot to add that he is not only over 30, but also over 40 and over 50.
I take Relief Factor. Ii is supposed to be a natural anti-inflammatory.
Hip pain, light almost ruptured itb wear, achilles (all on one leg), tibial issues on the other foot. I'm going a biomechanics expert but I was just looking for supplements to soften pain as I make any adjustments.
nothing, in my mid 30s, still compete, run 90 miles per week, eat only nutritious foods, no junk, & get a 1hr massage once per week

I have almost the exact same problems.
I'm finding that it's all hurting even worse in the cold weather.
Not that I'm competitive.
Not competitive nor over 30, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.
You may want to try hydrolyzed collagen--I use the Great Lakes Gelatin stuff. Tastes a bit odd dissolved in water, but undetectable in coffee, juice, or protein shake, and it sure seems to help. And fewer side effects than most of the alternatives.
Alternatively, eating a lot of connective tissue would have the same effect. Pho with tendon erryday.

Almost 40 here. Deca and IGF-1 at moderate doses. Never felt better.
SIERRA PACIFIC MORTGAGE
PATRIOT MOBILE!!!!!
Plagued with aches, pains and injuries for most of my 46 years of running (age 22 the doc wanted to scope both knees, I took a break from competition instead-I'm now 62). Four years ago I began to try fasting and low-carb eating, mainly to get rid of chronic chest infections, and immediately all of my litany of other inflammation-related issues eased, and now pretty much all have vanished, as long as I manage the diet properly.
Today I average 40-50 miles/week with workouts, eating one meal a day with the primary entree being fatty meats. I also do lots of strengthening, massage and other PT, as well as keeping an eye on sleep hygiene, but I have done all that for decades. Things didn't turn for the better until I stopped eating carbs all day.

The main problem with this approach is that most people want to be able to take a Disney magic pill instead of exercising the discipline it takes to break their crappy food addictions which are the root of their problems, including being fat, slow, broken-down pieces of flesh that need to get their sugar fix every few hours. The upside is that if you put in the work, the benefits will come like an avalanche from directions you couldn't have guessed.
My money's on the biomechanics expert, a podiatrist or a physio therapist.
Or you could just start by listening to your body, take a few weeks off once a year, not running through pain, long warm-ups (30+ mins) before hard work-outs, and tons of strength/flexibility training.

I'm sort following this, it was all about to cave in on me two days ago. 2 spin days, a trip to a good chiropractor with lasers, a bit of pool work, a voltaren and today was good. It'll probably be bad tomorrow.

Yes cold weather is a pain, rain is also a problem, running around puddles on my local track, always hurts my lower limbs.

Well, I hope you don't just accept this as something that comes with age, that would be a shame.
Personally I only know one runner who's joints (ankles) are slightly worn, and he's over 50. He's been running for 40 years and was a European masters 10k champion a number of times, so quite intense.
I take nothing. Best things you can do are eat right and run on varied terrain. Off road is best, but if you have to run on roads avoid sidewalks like the plague. Only time you should run on sidewalks is to get between areas and if the sidewalk has a grassy shoulder, you should run on that.
