That’s a dubious claim, but a Med school degree without residency training is meaningless anyway.

This is not surprising...in the US when a doctor is credentialed, they must supply medical school transcripts, evidence of completion of a residency program, etc. if this isn’t required in the UK or if the documents can be easily forged, someone could slip through the cracks. Psychiatry also isn’t a field in which an incompetent doctor would necessarily be immediately exposed, as opposed to trauma surgery or something requiring procedural expertise

I used to believe that civilized countries should provide healthcare to everyone in society, but now I'm on your side. There's literally no upside to that sort of thing. As a European, I feel ashamed.

Would she not have had to take some sort of official board exams in the UK to become a consultant psychiatrist? It does not make sense that someone could come into the UK with just a medical degree (yes I know she did not really have one) and then just be given a job as a consultant psychiatrist - surely she must have taken some sort of professional exam to be in that job.

If it works there like it does here, the people hiring her would just believe her license is valid if it says it was. They would not know it was forged.
