Fair. I have no problem with it. If a competition wants just Japanese, that is their right. What is wrong with that? They are not the strange PC Americans that are killing their country from within.

Letsrun needs to do this, but with American born runners only.

Japan should remove all foreigners , stay with no immigration policy to protect its culture . The first step is letting the Africans know they are not welcome. They bring absolutely nothing to Japans culture and rich history.

Its racist thats why even if its only inadvertent, it still manifests itself in the same way. It is only a race though but it is representative of their mindset. Try living in Japan when it is their society they shut you out of. It is only life though I guess. Although you only get one of those. There will be other races.

having foreigners around might help them from thinking it's ok to invade and slaughter their neighbors for nationalistic reasons. No culture with a recent failure as big as Japan/Germany can really talk about the need to 'preserve' their culture by expelling foreigners with a straight face. If their culture was so perfect then why did it lead to one of the biggest failures in modern history? Foreigners' presence is required to change the culture because it has been proven to be flawed. It's a beautiful culture and rightfully highly respected, but it needs foreigners in the country to help avoid another disaster.

I wish some of our smaller races would do a similar thing to promote and encourage the local talent.

There are lots of races with US only prize money, local only prize money, etc...

I feel like there is a pretty significant difference between national prize money and barring non-nationals from even entering. One is an incentive/motivator....the other is very cleary aimed at keeping out an 'other'.

Are the Japanese Olympic Trials also racist?
