Hey all.
So this is my first year as a post-collegiate, and wearing headphones on my daily runs is one the newer freedoms I have been indulging in frequently. Listening to music on runs has been one of those things that serves to motivate me after a long day of work, and also helps with some of the loneliness that comes with not having a team to run with.
That said, I am running a Turkey Trot tomorrow and a lot of my old teammates will be there. I really want to show them that I still got it, but honestly I have been slacking on workouts. Which got me thinking- can I make up for lack of fitness by wearing headphones during the race? I know it sounds ridiculous, but I just start running so fast when I'm listening to something up-tempo like Cardi B or Avril Lavigne that I feel like music could be the x factor that pushes me to a sub 16.
I looked into the race rules, and it doesn't say anything against it, plus the race should be thin enough towards the front that I don't think anyone will really notice if I take them off right after crossing the line.
