My state does not have many indoor HS meets. I am going to try to run a meet in a neighborhing state unattached. When I talked to some fellow teamates they were interested in going because there is a DMR and our state doesn’t have a big relay meet. We would be able to contend with many of the colleges from the meet last year and wondered if we could enter a DMR squad unattached as highschoolers. Any response would be awesome

I have also wondered this. Are there any rules that high school athletes can't compete in college/open meets?
There is no such thing as an unattached relay team. The team must represent a school or club.

Some meets are collegians only, but other meets could allow open/unattached athletes. Not sure on the relay situation, but more than likely, you would need to be in some kind of club to do it (and see if the club needs to be registered, not just something made up on the fly).

When I coached high school track we ran kids in several collegiate indoor meets. Tennessee doesn't sanction indoor track, so there was no high school eligibility issue. It seems to have been up to the meet director.
1. Does that use up college eligibility?
2. For the states that have a problem with that participation, does losing eligibility in Indoor rule you out for the rest of the year (eg, outdoor track)? Why is there so much variance between states when each state org claims to be subject to the rules of the national organization?
That's a silly unhelpful statement. He needs to check with the State Athletic Association to see if it is permissible. Some states will DQ the athlete forever if they compete in one college meet. The NCAA will not if they compete unattached. They view it the same way that college runners are viewed when they competed as unattached.
