Has anyone worn both the original altra escalante vs their new "racer" model
the original you had to size down, way down like a full size or 1.5 size
have they changed that for the "racer" ? because it has a new upper so I dunno
can't find any reviews that state one way or another, thanks for feedback
I haven't tried the original Escalante, but for the Racer I went true to size and it fits well. If I went down a half size my toes would be close to rubbing. It's roomy up front, but it's an Altra and to be expected.
I've worn both, and to me the sizing is exactly the same between them.
The new upper is a big improvement over the original Escalante, and is quite breathable.

Agreed on all counts.
Sizing exactly the same, but more secure fit, more breathable, lighter...
