I am not defending him on drugs at all. I have no basis for knowing whether he, or any other athlete other than me, is clean or dirty. I am simply suggesting that out of a general sense of decency and fairness, we shouldn't be anonymously accusing any person of doping without any evidence.
As to the douchiness, since I know the guy a bit, I don't think he is a douche; but I certainly understand why someone whose has only basis for evaluating his douchiness is his social media presence would reach a different conclusion than I have.
Exactly. I'll be honest, I saw his account a few years ago and immediately thought, wtf??
I have since followed him and enjoy his posts. I can't relate fully with his style or flare, but I genuinely believe the dude loves to run, and enjoys the outlier stance, rightfully so, he's earned it. We live in such a weird time with too much transparency at times. Sure, he'll likely never qualify for the Trials, but he's made his mark on the sport (hence the thread). Ya'll can continue bashing him or just let him be in his own lane. He's likely inspired non runners to give it a go because of his presence, as I stated earlier, that's more than some elites and Olympic medalists can say.
