Yet another thread about short tights for long distance

I wear compressions only at 800m races and below, but I've seen a lot of people wear compression shorts for distance training too. I find that for middle distance events it keeps my form honest, but for longer runs it is constricting, but that is just my take.

Yeah them being possibly "too restrictive" is why I wanted to ask about sizing. Going off of my waistline, a couple I tried seemed be a squeeze. I sized up thinking I might be doing more lower body strength training than the typical runner with my stature. Though, I wonder if the compression is what some folks like about them when running long.

In the end it will be whatever is more comfortable for you, what I might find restricting might feel right for you. I can definitely understand how people may enjoy running in them because when I do warmups for track workouts with them on (which are usually around 2 miles), I feel light and like there is less wind resistance.

Wind resistance is a BIG reason why I'm giving them a shot. My local marathon typically has a moderate headwind during the last 10k. The last time I ran the race, it was a 30+ mph headwind. I might not be fast like many of you guys. But, I gotta figure that improved aerodynamics would've helped in that situation!
