Ruppy puppy is about to shock the world
Possibility of 3 Area/Continental Records
1. North American Record 2:05.38 by Khanouchi (Though Hall Ran 2:04.58 on ineligible course/Boston)
Rupp Could get it, Hopefully faster than both. Prediction 2:04.20
2. European Record 2:05.48 by Moen
Farah who has the European Records at 1500, 10000 and Half Marathon (And 2nd fastest European at 5000) is very capable of it. Prediction 2:04.45
3. Asian Record 2:06.11 by Shitara
I think Osako is going to run very well, maybe be the first Japanese and Asian man under 2:06.00 Prediction 2:05.22
I am always optimistic, but they are all capable of the predicted times, with perfect weather and pacing 2:03 is possible
The World Record is out of Reach, but 3 Area/continental Records in 1 race would be amazing.
Weather will be to Rupp's advantage. I could see him winning with a similar gap to last year.
Rupp doesn't care about times. I look for it to turn tactical after pacers drop off, if not before. Rupp takes this, crushing the last 8k.
YHIHF!
Looking for a fair, fast, and clean race unlike the shenanigans the Democrats tried against Brett. Hopefully, there will be no dejected sore losers protesting along the course. Also, the runners need to be cautious of stray gunshots. If Alexi Pappas is wearing Greek colors she deserves to get booed. Any runner wearing a red M.A.G.A. hat deserves praise and applause.
M.A.G.A.
I will be at mile 23 wearing my M.aga hat and bright pink and my Hoka’s yelling gobble gobble mf-er. I will be discreetly drinking so I expect to be yelled at my police.
+1
Fantastic all the way around.
I want to see the pacers go out in 62 and for Rupp to go with them. If so, I believe he will definitely get the AR but won't win (even though I really wish he'd run a CR 2:03:30 or something like that with 62/61:30 splits).
*course record is 2:03:45
From the technical meeting, first group of pacers to go out at 1:02:15-30, 2nd group at 1:05:30. Leaves a lot of no-man's land in the middle for guys looking to go sub-2:10.
That is just stupid if the second pace group is that slow.

If it goes tactical, expect KipChoge to win. I don't think anyone gone get away from Augustine KIPRONO Choge. In fact I had a dream of him outsprinting two guys in the last mile for the win. Won't be first time for a debutant to win. Evans Rutto win in 2005 in his debut with 2:05:50( fastest debutant ever at the time).

Thanks for the warning. I'll avoid you at all costs.

It appears you've already begun drinking.

This. Augustine Choge closes the last 800 in 1:51 FTW.
Winner will come in at 2:05 high. Choge will run slower than 2:08. Kipkemoi will challenge for the win. Rupp will not beat Farah. Osako will not be anywhere close to the Asian record. Stinson runs 2:13.
My predictions:
Men Overall:
1- G. Kirui 2:05:50
2- Farah 2:06:30
3- Chumba 2:06:40
Men American:
1- Rupp 2:07:20
2- Braun 2:13:30
3- Stinson 2:13:50
Women Overall:
1- Dibaba 2:20:40
2- Kosgei 2:21:10
3- Kiplagat 2:22:20
Women American:
1- Thweatt 2:28:30
2- Jorgensen 2:29:30
3- Crouch 2:32:40
I just want Kipchoge to be there dressed like a hamburger or something to come in and run in costume and beat them all.
This is actually perfect. All of the majors today (including Dubai) with pacemakers are going out in 61:30 atleast in desperate WR attempts that always ends in blow ups (though this might end due to Kipchoge, but not enough time has passed). Farah hung on after a 61 flat in worse conditions to run a 2:06, so an even split 2:04 is definitely possible. Rupp will have his chance to prove himself in a "true" major marathon. Also don't forget Kirui, who should definitely be favored over Rupp.
Also, don't forget Dubai breakout star Geremew who also held on for a 2:06 after an ill-fated record attempt a berlin 2017, and held on at a suicidal race in Dubai for a 2:04:00. If they truly go out in 62:00, he is probably the favorite to win IMO (though Dubai winners tend to fall off).
Don't forget Chicago is a fast course (Course Record is 2:03:45 set by the former WR holder Kimetto with an even split)
My prediction
1. Geremew 2:03:30 CR
2. Farah 2:04:24 EU
3. Kirui 2:04:57
4. Rupp 2:05:50 (No American record sorry)
