Okay, so I have dropped my weight about 20 lbs. in the last 2 months by cutting calories and running 25-35 mpw as I'm doing a build-up to ~85 mpw. The problem is, I am still slightly overweight (190 lbs. on a 6'1" frame). I know that a more "ideal" weight for me is around 170 lbs. (or lower).
My question is: in about 3 weeks time, I'm going to be over 50 mpw., but I'm nervous that putting in 50 mpw while still around 185-190 lbs. could cause some potential injuries (read: a stress fracture). Should I hover around 40-45 mpw for a while until I drop my weight an additional 10 lbs. or so? Or do you think it's safe to keep upping my mileage as the pounds slowly fall off, even if it means I'm running say 55 mpw while weighing 185?
