Basically,
I've been doing a long build up for my marathon in two weeks and was hoping to shoot for 2:19.
I've been running about 110 miles per week for the last two months and handling it well. This weekend I attempted a half marathon on a fairly flat fast course but didn't taper at all. I still hit 108 miles for the week with a 15 mile marathon pace run on Tuesday, 6 by mile cruise intervals on Thursday and a 14 mile easy long run on Saturday before the half marathon. I ran relaxed the first 8 miles of the half and then pushed hard to break away for the win in 1:08 low.
Do you think it's reasonable to shoot for twice the distance with each half 1-2 minutes slower in two weeks. I didn't feel I pushed hard at all for the first half and my legs did feel a little heavy race morning. How fast can I shoot for in the marathon given I've always felt like I'm a better marathoner than half runner and I'll be fully tapered?
