Gookinaid became Vitalyte. Total shite- it's low sodium and is just another low calorie electrolyte drink like standard Gatorade. Nothing special about it. I tried it for a period to see what my old geezer friends were raving about. The low sodium was not good for hot conditions, as compared to say Gatorade Endurance Formula (which has added sodium, calcium, magnesium).
Maurten is unique in that it's a high caloric sports drink in either the 45g or 90g carbohydrate versions or now in gel form (25g, which is comparable to other brands). The key to not having GI upset is to space out drinking the drink. Hence, why Kipchoge had someone handing off bottles every 2.5k. Your gut can only absorb 60-90g per hour of glucose plus fructose. Being able to take the drink isn't really an option in the marathon unless you're running with bottles or have the option to set up your own bottles.
