Right-wing Evangelical Christian Colleges toe the Republican party line. And that's news? When will Bob Jones University make the move?
Calling such schools "Higher Education" is a mockery.
As soon as Adidas releases a controversial ad.
Wow, who is next? Kaplan Kollege? DeVry? American Diesel Training Center? Trump U?
i heard the Trump University football team is considering dropping their walmart unbranded velcro shoes because walmart sells Nike.

Why is Nike even sponsoring universities that no one has ever heard of? Like, seriously, I didn’t even know that College of the Ozarks and Truett McConnell existed before reading these threads on letsrun.
College of the Ozarks is actually a halfway decent school. Truett McConnell not so much.
It is likely that former athletes at these school will continue to buy Nike products for themselves and future family members if they had a good experience with them while in college. That's probably why they sponsor these schools. Money someday from some kid who ran at an NAIA school is the same as money someday from some kid who ran at a D1 school.
This thread is like a micro-cosm of USA .
You have all these people who haven't even heard of these colleges, didn't even know that they used Nike gear, and mock them as not truly "higher education" to their mind.
About the only fact I've seen is that the #2 HS runner in GA has a scholarship toTruett, to pursue some sort of track and field "career", which fits into the values of their programme somehow.
No wonder Hillary lost and shoes cost so much.
Nike's online sales jumped 31% after company unveiled Kaepernick campaign, data show
Yes, I totally trust self-reported data, likely intersected from that paragon of non-bias known as Google.
Lets see...
In 2015 there were ~4,725 Title IV-eligible, recognized degree-granting colleges/universities in the US.
Two have now announced that they are cutting ties with Nike.
2/4275 = 0.00046%
Holy hell, it's a higher education avalanche.

Sounds like bogus numbers. Obviously all 4725 couldn't cut Nike ties, as they didn't all have them in the first place. Some don't even have "sports" programs/sponsors.
In fact, CofO and TMcCU belong toNAIA (the former being a frequent basketball champion in div II).

"Higher Education" is being overly generous in describing these 2 institutions.
Yes, the title was indeed a quite well-constructed troll job.
Hopefully such prose-writing will snowball to other LRC posters/trolls.

Don’t forget U Phoenix!
There's nothing "character-driven" about painting the Nike ad campaign as mocking our military troops.
Maybe if CK had been a communications major, it would be more clear what his "protest" is all about.

Is your head stuck in the sand on purpose? Where have you been the last couple of years? Coma?
The article should read that Nike profits from promoting racial stereotypes and fueling a victim mentality among the youth of America. But then again I am just an old lump of coal. In my generation rappers profited off of far worse rhetoric that would be inappropriate for a message board such as this.

So, how?
What racial stereotypes are they promoting?
How are they fueling a victim mentality? Which victim mentality is it?
You are a lump of old coal. Then again, I'm nearly a 4-decade old piece of coal...but I don't see what you see.
Care to answer?
About the cop shootings? So will Kaep be kneeling in Dallas this week? Coming to Chicago when the cop in-progress court case verdict is read from the SHOOTING BACK IN 2014 that Rahm tried to suppress? We know Obama didnt say or do jack-s about it then.
Not a fan of folks bashing these institutions. They may not be Ivy League (where apparently everyone on Letsrun got their degrees), but they serve a community well.
Alas, nothing about Kaepernick's protest mocks the troops (a former Green Beret suggested he kneel rather than sit and many veterans support Kaepernick's cause and his right to kneel). I think that his protest is a bit silly and that choosing that way ended up overshadowing a legitimate concern that he raises.
Police shootings of unarmed people are pretty rare. But that does not mean there is not concern.
"Oh no! we are losing support from two whole second-rate universities who we have made minimal profit off of for the last several years, whatever shall we do!"
If you're driving at a particular point, you aren't doing a very good job highlighting what it is.
