Hey all, I am an incoming freshman to my university. I've made it a goal to make my school's track team for this upcoming year. Here's the catch. I've been out from running for about four months. My last year of high school cross country wasn't good at all, I was 20 seconds off my pr of 17:21. For track season I was sick so I could not train or compete. I tried to stay somewhat in shape but I was nowhere near where I could've been had I been healthy. Fast forward to now. I have about a month of strong solid running, and finished my first small workout today on the track. I could definitely tell I had lost some fitness. So my big question is how might I go about trying to make my school's team? And ramp up my training to get me up to speed with everyone else when track rolls around this spring? My university is NAIA so it's not like i'm going D1, but it's still a goal i've set for myself and id really like to be a part of the team. My junior year track Pr's are
0.55-400m
2:04-800m
4:25-1500m
Any advice on how I might go about this is welcomed!
