Flotrack layoffs and not meeting payroll? Truth to rumors?

To anyone that says there isn't a God this news should change their mind.

I like flotrack. There are many of us XC and track fans who would love to help them out for only a small stipend instead of whatever they are paying their current employees.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If they wished to be successful, they'd offer a pay per view option. I like watching track, but I only have maybe a couple evenings free to do so a month. I'd like to pay for the meets I want to watch on those evenings, then, and only for those meets, not a month of coverage. A lot of people are like this, probably more than their number of subscribers.

I would gladly pay 5.99 each to watch the meets i was interested in......but i think their business model is predicated on people signing up to a subscription to watch a meet and then forgetting to unsubscribe.

Well, the NCAA has banned their videos after the Harvard scandal. They've been blackballed from all videos without the school actually owning rights and distribution.

They don't offer value.

Very few people understand how hard it is to turn a buck in media. A subscription model is one of the few ways for a media company to be sustainable. If they offered an a la carte system, they wouldn't make money, plain and simple. Pay up or watch it die.

It will be great to go back to the days where instead of having to pay Flotrack to watch meets, we just couldn't watch them at all.

they wouldn't make money, realkly? Like the other guy above said, I'd prob pay $6 to watch a meet. I might pay $12 to watch 2 meets, I might even pay up to $10 to watch a multi day meet or a day long meet. I would not buy a subscription for 30 (or whatever it is) a month though. How is $0 making more financial sense than 12-20? I get that flotrack is better off with $30 instead of $6, but I don't get how they are better off with 0 instead of 6. Imagine if the nfl charged 30$ a month or $150 for the whole season. No other content, just nfl, and only some games. They'd lose some fans.

I paid only $79 last year which is less than $7 per month. Stop all of the complaining and contact them to see how reasonable it really is. The more people that subscribe, the cheaper it gets for all of us.

So you think if Flotrack somehow developed a successful business model, they'd reduce their price....passing the savings onto us. Sure. You are also asking us to contact Flotrack and ask them how reasonable their service is? I can do that, but will they also answer the question of if payroll is being met?

Where does it say this is about flotrack? I don't see in any of those posts where it says anything about Flotrack it is flosports which includes a number of different sports.

I am not a fan of flotrack and never watch their stuff but this may not be pointed at the track people

The August 1 reviewer nailed it with his or her advice to the management. The problem is once they got the VC money, they can't give it back. It's all about profit and not about authentic.

It is my understanding that Flotrack falls under the Flosports umbrella. So if Flosports goes FloBellyup, that would include Flotrack.

That's what happens when you try to hide subscription costs on the website and then charge more than Netflix. They did a really poor job of getting subscribers. And their new website is an abomination. I used to visit the site regularly just to watch the Workout Wednesday videos and now they're impossible to find. (Search for Workout Wednesday and it returns 0 results) Their videos are completely uncategorized now. So much good content rendered inaccessible.
