Hello, I’m a rising senior in high school that is running cross country. I am very endurance-based and very untalented naturally. I have very little speed but a big aerobic base. Our first big race of the season is September 1st and I would really love to break 18. Here are some workouts that I have done recently :
8 x 600 @2:00 with 3:00 walking rest (the day after a 10 miler)
4 x 1600 @ 5:58 with 800m jogging rest
10 mile long run with a 15 second cut-down on each mile (ended at 6:30)
Solo 5K tempo on the track in 18:31
6 x 1000 @ 3:40 with 4:00 walking rest
10:41 3K race last week
If you don’t think that I can break it now, could I break it by the end of the season?
