I’m planning to run my first half marathon in 6 weeks on a flat and fast course. Here’s what I’ve done recently:
-5 mile tempo at M pace on the road. Result was 5:59-6:00 pace.
-4 x 5:00 with 2:30 jogging recovery. Avg pace was 6:12/ mile
- 6x 1 mile with 1 min recovery on the road. This was done at tempo pace. 5:37, 5:38, 5:40, 5:38, 5:44, 5:42.
- 5x4:00 with 2:30 jogging recovery. Avg pace was 6:25.
-10k tempo on the track. Ran 36:18. 5:54, 5:51, 5:49, 5:53, 5:51, 5:36, 83. Had to move to lane 4 and back to lane 1 at homestretch because of band practice.
- currently averaging 70-80 mpw. I’m planning to run 80 miles this week. I’ve been doing long runs of 14-16.
What can I run in 6 weeks? I know sub 1:20 is for sure. I’m hoping for 1:13-1:14.
