even an hour can be enough
I heard no less than 5 hours, Idk where I heard that from though. I sometimes run at 5:30 then again around 1 or so. works for me if I keep the second run slow
Frank Shorter would double like this:
11:30 am first run
3:30 pm second run
Assuming he finished his first run around 12:30 am that would only be three hour rest between his first and second.
How some Kenyans double, if for example you look up Paul Tergat training:
6:00 am first run
10:00 am second run
Most efficient to start the second at halfway point of the first.
Enough for what?
To many questions. What are your goals? Is the second run a workout? Why do you need to run a double in the first place?

Hehe letsruntroll discus discus(s)ion.
Anyways.
1 minute = short interval.
5 minutes = repeat
15 minutes = doubling with the aim of getting a lot of work done (as in a lot of miles or whatyouaimfor) and then you get this little rest and some fuel to aid the purpose
and time goes bye
4-5 hours and you are ready for another quality work or maybe just recovery
What do you want to achieve?
The answer for me is always when my meal after the first workout no longer sits like lead in my gut.
