David Moorcroft's WR would have been a few seconds faster if he hadn't run nearly the whole way himself.
He's 13th or 14th.

Put all those guys in a race together and they want to win. No way they run 12:44. 12:44 only happens in time trial efforts.
Who's the rabbit?
A race with this field does not break 13:00.

Incorrect. 2003 world championships had a lot of these same runners (but not in their prime) and went 12:52. Make those runners faster by putting them in their prime and add all the other all time greats and it's for sure pushed sub 12:50 and medals earned by those that can handle it. A judge component of this analysis is how these runners actually raced heads up. I suggest you study up on some track history if you dont think this most likely scenario would occur.
You're all wrong, time machine means absolute peak athlete, so 7:20 Komen is in this race. Everyone else devastated as he simply runs away in 12:35.
7:20 Komen is the GOAT distance runner by a very wide margin.
Seriously dude with the latest updates to the abp nobody is turning and running faster than 12:55 max probably 13:00
Anyway El Guerrouj beat Bekele two years in a row in majors

That race was also a 13:17 race, not 12:44 race. Obviously he'll get hurt more at a 12:44 pace, then throw a bunch of other all time greats ahead of him to push him back a few spots to 13th.
Again, no. If 2009 Mo Farah wasn’t dropped by prime Bekele, prime Mo Farah definitely wouldn’t be either. The idea is ludicrous.
But what if the Time Machine malfunctioned, and arms and legs were interchanged? What then??
I would add Dieter Baumann. You have Mottram in your list, his best performance was a WC bronze. Baumann not only had the better PR, but also won gold, silver and forth place in three Olympic Games 5000 m finals.

+1. Ultimately I felt Mottram peaked outside WC/Olympics, but this is a decent point.
Your list is ridiculous. Where are e.g. Dejen Gebremeskel, Sileshi Sihine, Stephen Cherono, Hicham el-Guerrouj?
In fairness, the OP clearly indicates in his username that he's only 9 years old (9yo), so I think everyone's being too hard on him here. On Let.s Run, posters tend to be very intolerant of inexperienced and/or stupid people and while the OP is obviously inexperienced - for a 9 year old he's far from stupid.
Rather than pulling his post apart, how about people at least acknowledge that he's exhibiting the intelligence and understanding of the sport of a child at least two or three years older than his actual age. I think that's commendable.
Basically, he's made a list of runners he's heard of and likes and simply placed them in the order he'd most like them to finish if they ever raced. I know this is Let's run, but come one isn't this the type of thing all kids do at some point?
How exactly did you arrive at these results? You have the four fastest men in history finishing 1-4 in order, but from there the times/placements seem fairly arbitrary.
This is as close to the Time Machine Natty’s as you can get. The only question is where does Farah finish? I bet he’s there at the line for the win.

Every factor that could affect how an athlete would do on equal ground is considered. Best times, conditions, era, track, competitiveness, heart, balls, kick, strenght, tactical ability, PED usage, head to head results, championships results, how well they peak, DQ history
