Gold in Euro champs. The world champ shows up when it counts.
Anything less than a gold next year at Worlds would be a disappointment.

You think he would be favored to beat Noah Lyles, who has run 19.69 or better three times this year?
Slowed down at the end too. Could have been an European record.
Lyles would dust him at 100m and 400m and has already beat him in the 200m and it wasn't close.
Don't put too much into times.
I guess we'll see about him when he goes through rounds at the Champs.
Also, Guliyev was not pushed at all in mediocre running conditions. Could have gone much faster.
...so why didn't he?

Lol. A peak Lyles beat a recovering Guliyev two months ago? Genius!
And in 2017 a recovering Noah Lyles beat the World Champion Guliyev 20.00 to 20.02 in Brussels. Which was the fastest time Guliyev ran in 2017. Lyles had a 19.90 and only ran 4 races,
As far as I know it's Lyles 2-0 over Guliyev.
Lyles has ran more fast 200 times.

You mean he barely nipped Guliyev in a meaningless race? Genius!
I mean he beat Guliyev with the guy running his fastest time in 2017 with Lyles in only his 4th race that season.
Guliyev won the Worlds because Andre DeGrasse wasn't there. We all know that.
Guliyev can't beat Lyles, that's why he hasn't.
You can believe whatever you like.
Oh...and Degrasse who??

No, he lost maybe 1 or 2 1/100, definitely not 5.
Degrasse hasn’t really been lighting it up lately
But I think it would be crazy to favor Guliyev over Lyles.
The battle for silver and bronze will be interesting though.
Who will the big contenders be?
Norman, Guliyev, Coleman, Mitchell Blake?

It's not about what I believe it's about what we have seen.
Lyles has ran faster, he has beaten Guliyev. Yep....facts.
This is DeGrasse, where is Guliyev?

A loss is a loss.
You are trying to apply, and failing, the NOP excuse for losing races--rust buster, meaningless race, weather did not cooperate, could not draft off unwilling runners, pollen count too high, etc.

A gold medal is a gold medal and Guliyev has one more than Lyles!

At age 20 Cento's Gold medal counts was ZERO.
I was talking 2017 there with DeGrasse who did run a faster time than Guliyev.
I totally agree it is crazy to favor anyone over Lyles right now.
I do doubt DeGrasse comes back on another level but could contend for that silver/bronze......maybe.
I don't see Coleman caring about the 200m. Same with Norman, but hope I'm wrong there. Blake and a bronze, is a....hmmmm?
Curious about Akeem Bloomfield and Steven Gardiner, could they be thinking 200m?
Would like to see this final
lane
1.Jareem Richards
2.Guliyev
3.Michael Norman
4.Akeem Bloomfield
5.Noah Lyles
6.Steven Gardiner
7.Andre DeGrasse
8.WVN

Yet he's 0-2 vs Lyles.

I thought you didn't like the "NOP excuses"!
