His status doesn't allow for it. He tries taking relatively long strides for his height, but it comes at the expense of frequency, and he's never going to match the length of the taller guys. You might be saying he's going to get taller, but his physicality suggests that he isn't. And while I'm here, Tyrese Cooper is never going to run sub 20. These kids just develop too early. And that's why you don't hype up child prodigies.

Those are terrible odds. Less than 1 in 1 million are world class. Any decent kid has a better chance than 99% of their peers because less than 1% of kids even compete. Setting the math aside, he didn’t improve this year and he will be a junior in high school. He is one of the top 800 runners but had fallen back in the 1500. I agree that he won’t be world class but he will be a competitive collegiate runner.

I said 99% chance out of kids running, not every kid.

He's got more chance of achieving his goal of being World Class than Ron Paul does of achieving his goal in 2020.
I will bet against world class also. The odds are so slim in athletics. 1:47 and 3:40 are not world class.

Anyone know how much he actually trains? He has almost no xc or indoor results. If he just plays ball in the winter and track in the spring, he might have a lot left.

I’m confused on this. Is that aau only? I’m sure there are sophomores who have ran faster than that
AAU record. He was born in 2002. Some Sophs are born in 2001.
Don't you think that if B miller ran cross and some base mileage he'd be a lot better? I don't know much about his training but based on milesplit videos and hearing his coach talk he sounds mostly speed based so I see not having touched the aerobic aspect as an upside. Just for reference, an 1:50 800 is worth about a 3:45 1500 and 4:02 mile. Miller only ran 3:58 for 1500 after his 1:50 at AAUs. If he abandoned AAU, ran mileage all summer, put together an O.K. cross season, I feel like he could put the pieces of the puzzle together and run a far better 1500 and probably shave a bit in the 8 as well. The kid clearly lacks an aerobic component to his running and it looks as if he's a 400m runner relying on a bit of natural endurance. People love to hate but I think this kid has potential. Maybe this is something we won't see until he's in college.

I agree. He's basically raw untapped talent. Has a lot of potential.

Yeah, in AAU and he only ran 3:58. There are high school sophomores who break 4:10 in the 1600/mile every year a few months earlier in the season. 3:58 is worth like 4:16/4:17 for a mile. Max Burgin from GB is the same age as him and surpassed him this year and ran 1:47 a few times this season (also ran 1:49 last year). However, he’s run 3:47 for 1500, which is 11 seconds faster than Miller. I think he’ll be world class in the future as he’s got better range and has improved much more this year (and has international experience).
Is this kid burned out? He is one of the fastest child 800 meter runners of all time. He should be running 1:46 by now.
He pulled a hamstring in a 200 during the HS season. That had been after a 47 second 400 in a previous meet.
Not sure why the predictions are what they are. He has showed solid improvement while taking the Winter off by playing basketball. What else do you want?
Kid is done
1:49 in 2017 and then again in 2018 and then injury in 2019 is not steady improvement. That is 3 seasons. 2 seasons ago essentially his PR and nothing really to show this year.
