This video has been making the rounds in the fitness community today. From what I understand, this gym is basically a Canadian version of Planet Fitness called Buzzfit in Montreal. The teenager deadlifting in the video has been asked to deadlift more quietly in the past, and he has agreed to use mats to accommodate this request. But for the psycho who attacks him in the video, this apparently wasn’t enough:

I wouldn't classify that as an assault (maybe a hard unexpected shove, in law terms technically is assault though, I'm not sure), it's not like the guy sucker punched him or threw him to the ground violently or Anything like that which could potentially have long term consequences. Also funny how this video decides not to show the audio of the loud deadlifter lifting, but does show the audio of the confrontation. If someone was randomly screaming it could definitely affect others concentrating in mid workout, not to mention it being very annoying. IMO the screamer is at fault and should be less annoying and I'm sure most gym members would agree if they went to the same gym. I bet a lot of SJWs will defend the screaming dead lifter though.
The deadliftting teenager was not screaming as can be seen/heard in this video. He was simply dropping the weights on the mats. The deadlifting teenager got sucker kicked in the groin and his weights were kicked downward mid-lift as he was attempting a PR. This does not qualify as assault? This isn't the video making the rounds, this is a video of a guy who for some reason decided to show the video and talk over it. The kid did not scream. You just made that up. Why? Why accuse the kid of something he didn't do?
The kid did nothing wrong. He followed the rules exactly as he was instructed. The assbro who came over doesn't even work for the gym, he just wanted to be an assbro. "Attack" or "assault" is a bit strong but the kid is clearly in the right and the jerk is in the wrong.
This isn't one of the many videos from several years back where some idiot would film himself yelling and dropping weights and intentionally trying to get kicked out of Planet Fitness or another general purpose gym by clearly violating their policies. And then post it to show hard hard he was and how soft the gym was. I take the side of the gym on every one of those.
On this one, the kid did as instructed, didn't yell, and it wasn't even the gym that got after him, it was just a random dude.
The video is fake.
Old dude needs to dial back his T therapy.

This reminds me of living in Montreal. Running intervals at the track, these swarthy MFs playing soccer thought I should fetch the ball every time they kick it out of bounds. "Eh, monsieur! monsieur"... they got the message quick enough, and boy those were some good intervals.

Not the best angle to film for form and coincidentally I like how the lifter looks right at the camera.
Id say probably fake, ive heard louder lifters at Planet Fitness. I don't think the kid was loud at all really. Its standard practice to lift and then drop the bar on deadlifts.
The lifter if real should sie the gym for an unsafe environment. Any hands put on you is an aggressive manner is assault.
