So my right leg is about a half inch longer than the left. I’m thinking about running a marathon. Should I just take shorter strides with both legs, or should I take comfortable strides and then maybe work in an extra step with the left foot every once in a while? I’d really like to time that extra step for maximum efficiency. How often does everyone think I should take that extra step?
At least you don't have a problem with your middle leg.

You'll be better off skipping a step with your long leg than adding an extra step with he shorter one.

This is no joke. It's less a question of taking an extra step and more one of how much you will need to twist your upper body to offset your leg length discrepancy. You probably shouldn't be running, but you know this and will run anyway.

Get some orthotics or whatever their called.
Doctor once wanted to run toxic dye through my body to be certain. I believe my left leg is a bit longer than right. I concentrate on pushing off harder on left leg/left foot in order to not run with a limp.
I saw your x-ray. It's not your leg, your back is twisted causing your hip to be higher and raising that leg. Any chiropractor dude will be able to fix that. And treat your cold symptoms too. Or you might just want to put your wallet in the other pocket to counterbalance the problem.
