She looks like 40+. Bronze medalist in 5000m.

It's not the IAAF's fault I'm sure they're producing the proper (if fake) credentials.
LOL - In the article is says that, to a "lay man," she can pass for 30. After seeing that photo, I think that she could pass for 60 to 65 in the U.S.
I've long noticed that Ethiopians appear to age faster than other people around the world. I don't know if it's (mal-)nutrition, the altitude, sanitation, genetics, or something else, but this really takes the cake. I can't chalk this up to rapid aging. If she really is 16, she'd have to have some kind of genetic disorder, like that movie with Robin Williams where he looks like he's 35 at age 12-ish.
If it's a combination of age-cheating and mal-nutrition, I have to seriously wonder how fast she (and other Ethiopians) could run with proper care.
I can guarantee that zero of the Kenyans and Ethiopians at this meet are of proper age. Most are already heavily doped, coached by corrupt Europeans (Italians, etc.).
This entire meet is a farce, and should be scrapped.
Tanaka has been the bright spot in this whole charade.

Bad lighting

The 1500m kenyan athletes, specially Manangoi, are probably legit in terms of age.
Am I the only one that thinks 2nd place looks about the same age as 3rd?
Both are obviously over 25.
Maybe her daughter or granddaughter has the same name and is 16? Only explanation that works for me.
What? Shes looked baby-faced to me.

Adorable.
What brand of soymilk do you like best?
Oops! I thought you meant the one in black.

You realise that's Athletics Kenya raising questions about her age, right. Normally, I'd say I'm disappointed in them for joining in this kind of hate but, My God, that picture ...
I have always gathered that many of the East Africans don’t have birth certificates so the coaches decide on what age to race them under based on how they perform.
If they run like one of the 16 year olds, then they train and compete with that group.
This may just be a rumour, but it explains some discrepancies.

Maybe she's having a condition? If you don't really know her, you people have no right to judge.
Runners only land on one feet at a time - you can have 32 on your birth certificate but your legs will only be 16 each...
Always cheating by age by drugs by sex and more. These nations need DQ-ing and no participation for a decade in athletics. Kenya, Ethiopia, and others are tremendously guilty. Everything Caster has done needs to be erased. I know women in their 40s who look younger than that Gebrzihair who have light skin and spend hours a day in the sun.

Which one of them is Girmawit? All three of the women in that pic look at least 45.

Most Kenyans under age 20 have a birth certificate and the ones who don't, their age came be approximated in a number of ways. The possibility of economic rewards far outweight ethics. Its not just athletes who are months or a year beyond the appropriate age, they will race an athlete of any age in junior competition if they know the correct age can't be proved.
