That can't be correct.
I know that can't be right as Myles Marhsall (now at Harvard) ran 1:48.43 at age 16.

Michael Granviile ran 1:47.96 at age 17 at Arcadia and 1:46.45 at age 18.
Some one needs to update USATF list.
This kid doesn't look to be ahead of the curve in terms of physical development. Very normal-looking pubescent boy. Kind of like Jim Ryun as a gangly 16-year old, only faster.
Ryun did 1:43 at 16. Converted from his 1:39 in ventolin's mind.
He turned 16 only seven weeks ago as well. Will surely run 1:46 or even faster if he races in a couple of senior events this season. I wonder if he will run in any 1500s this summer?

What's happened to Brandon Miller? He turns 16 this year if he hasn't already. I can only see one result for him this season, a 1:49. And why does the IAAF list his birthdate simply as '2002'?

Also, as I posted the other day but it didn't get much attention, Scotlands 16 year old Kane Elliott won the 1500m, also in a championship record (3:55). He has already run a 3:46 this season (at 16!).
Middle-distance running is coming home.

It would be one to watch, and very close. They could well end up having a big rivalry over the years. I think the coach of Max said last year that he sees his potential as being even greater at 1500m, but that they were building his speed first.
MB. 1500m and above, JI by far. But then again he is 18 (in September).

LOL ? POTD
Wow, that would have given him the bronze at last year's world youth championship. The world youth best is 1:43.37, so he is less than 4 seconds away from the record. He has one more year to get that record.
Miller turned 16 in January. He ran 1:49 at 15 but hasn’t gone faster.

Jakob. He is probably a sub 1:48-runner for the 800. 200 meters is 25% of 800 meters. Max got 3:53 last year for the 1500m.
Awfully good. The kid's not physically mature yet and with frontrunning the entire time, no competition, obviously no drafting, and rounds, he would likely be able to knock his time down to 1:45 high with senior competition later this year. I'm taking off a second for drafting the whole way--since he'll be able to do that at his level with senior runners--and another half second for 2 second positive splits instead of 1 second and having people to run with.
is this an age-cheating Kenyan?
I don't understand why people post unfounded predictions with undeserved certainty like this. He's a remarkable athlete who turned in a magnificent performance. But no juggling of pace, competition, or conditions can guarantee "1:46 or even faster." That's nonsense. The adrenaline of the championship race may have pushed him to his ideal effort at his current fitness. Getting in tough with faster senior runners may leave him flat and stale, struggling to match his previous effort. Let him develop on his own schedule.

What ever happened to dude who ran 1:45.9 at age 17? David Fiegen. Maybe Burgin breaks this next year- long shot
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
