What about the guys? Centro's a few years younger than Simpson, but he's not getting any younger. Is there a male version of Houlihan out there?

The male Houlihan is staying low key and training hard for a championship year. He’s not wasting his time with pointless DL meets.

Pre was slow in mid d.
Pre did not run with great tactics.
Pre did not sprint away from anybody, ever down the final stretch.
Pre was good at 2 mile and 5 k.
Pre was exciting to watch because he would blow up races when nobody else would, hang on for dear life till the finish, and often win that way.
That is not Houlihan. Houlihan is a sniper with strength and unmatched sprint speed.
While you're splitting hairs looking for differences, how many ARs does Houlihan have? What we're talking about is someone who can beat domestic competitors over a range of distances, doesn't matter what the tactics are. Had Pre lived, and had WC existed in his era, he'd have wound up with medals during his prime years. None of this current crop is doing any better.
