i saw the writeups earlier and was expecting to see something awesome once i saw the video. this is so overhyped. if this is newsworthy, im sorry, I'm just embarrassed for distance running as a sport. some slight contact (relative to other sports) and two pathetic toothpicks getting angry with each other afterwards? something needs to be done about the sport if the most memorable race of the year ("ive never seen a 5k end like this!") has the excitement, intensity, and stakes as my neighbors toothpick preteen girls getting mad at each other in the driveway. I love in boston, and no way would I spend my time to go out to a track in Cambridge to watch this exact race, even if it were like a 12:50. id rather sit at home and post on letsrun for 5 minutes, see the results, and do something better for the next hour. track and field needs to fix this. there is just so much better things for a fan to watch than these noodles run around a track in circles and have a cat fight at the end. cross fit games are way way more entertaining as a fan (and I hate cross fit in general)
