Women's 800 Underway.
Wow.
Ajee Wilson wins as you'd expect but Raevyn Rogers with a huge late charge, but just when you think she might pass Wilson, it doesn't come close to happening.
What a race. 7 under 2:00.1. One of the best (the best?) U.S. 800s ever? And nice to see Ce'Aira Brown cap off a great season with a podium finish.
In our preview, I said to not over think the men's 800. Murphy is an Olympic medallist, he's run a 3:53 mile. He will win. Now I'm wondering if Harris can do it. He's looked GREAT.
And is it possible that Salazar's training has sapped Murphy of his 800 speed like it has with Centro of late? I guess we'll find out in a few minutes.
Upset about to happen in the men's 800
that was some memorable shoulder tap and "what are you doing?" at race pace
Big negative split in the mens 800m final.
Murphy led at the bell through 54.5 and won pretty easily in 1:46.5. Harris 2nd in 1:47.11, Sowinksi 3rd in 1:47.76
Excellent tactical race from Murphy, 51 second last lap. Kept a good position, Harris had a lot of energy and looked like he would make the pass but Murphy held ground. I feel like if Harris didn't have as 'wide' of a running form he might have been able to cut in sooner and take it.
"Rubbin' is racing"
-some NASCAR dude
Yellow flags on the last turn of the 800. Harris leaned in on Murphy without much room, could be a DQ of Harris

Murphy's 2016 season has been very similar to his 2018 season so far. Gradually progressing throughout the year. The only difference was in college he was crushing his competition. Had he been a pro in 2016 he would have been exposed in a similar fashion to this year. But he rounded into shape at the right time. 1:45 a few weeks ago and 3:53 at Pre (similar to his 3:36 win at NCAAs and 3:36 at the Portland Track Festival a few days later in 2016) and now a national title to cap off the domestic season. It wouldn't surprise me to see him break 1:44 this year and run a 1500 PR.
Did Kynard just blow out his achilles?
Is Vanessa Fraser wearing a BTC kit?

Looks like it. How does she get in with BTC and Schweizer is still in a Mizzou uniform. Fraser is a very solid runner but wouldn't have pegged her to go to BTC. She'll be on the shelf for a long time with BTC trying to train with girls significantly better than her.
What happened to that Australian announcer from yesterday? He's gone today.
I missed the beginning. Did they say where he went?
Schweizer sitting in second, but it looks like she has a plan to push it when things slow down. It would be a good idea, she has the best shot against Houlihan
When Houlihan wins this 5k, she'll be the first US woman to have completed the 1500/5000 double at USA outdoors since doper Regina Jacobs did it in 2000. Bernard Lagat did it on 2008.

Leigh Diffey is the main IndyCar announcer so likely he’s at Road America today.

To be fair, many of the Bowerman women have gotten much better relative to where they were at when they joined. I don't think many would have pegged Frerichs as a world silver or Infeld as a world bronze when they first joined.
So glad NBC discovered split screen technology.
